Chungbuk Cheongju FC (Korean: 충북 청주 FC), formerly Cheongju FC (청주 FC), is a South Korean football club based in the city of Cheongju that competes in the K League 2, the second tier of South Korean football. They play their home games at the Cheongju Sports Complex.

History

The club was founded in 2002 as Cheongju Solveig Football Club, and competed at amateur level.

In the 2009 season, the club joined the K3 League after changing its name to Cheongju Jikji FC. Before the 2019 season, the club merged with Cheongju City FC.

In 2022, Cheongju FC announced that they would join the professional K League 2 in the 2023 season, and also rebranded as Chungbuk Cheongju FC.

Cheongju FC är ett sydkoreanskt fotbollslag baserat i Cheongju. Laget grundades 1995 och spelar för närvarande i K League 2, den näst högsta nivån i det sydkoreanska ligasystemet.

Cheongju FC har en rik historia fylld av både framgångar och motgångar. Laget har vunnit K League 2 två gånger, 2006 och 2017, och har också vunnit Korean FA Cup en gång, 2013. Men klubben har också gått igenom svåra tider, inklusive en nedflyttning till K League 3 2009.

Trots utmaningarna är Cheongju FC ett populärt lag med en lojal fanskara. Klubben har ett antal framstående spelare, inklusive den före detta sydkoreanska landslagsmannen Cho Young-cheol.

Hemmastadion för Cheongju FC är Cheongju Stadium, som har en kapacitet på över 16 000 personer.
